You're facing a frustrating issue with your desktop environment. It seems file associations aren't setting correctly, and clicking anything triggers an error message about missing apps. The system boots into desktop but the taskbar is unresponsive, and even pressing Windows key or the icon doesn't work. Despite multiple restarts, the problem persists. You've run diagnostics and updated drivers, but nothing resolves it. Your hardware appears healthy based on recent checks, yet the instability continues. It might help to verify if your SSD is overheating, as that could be affecting performance. Consider monitoring temperatures or checking for any signs of fan failure. If the issue remains after a stable boot, it may require deeper troubleshooting like reinstalling drivers or checking for hardware conflicts.

I restored my desktop by putting it to sleep and then restarting, but all other applications except the ones I had open (like browsers and Steam) lost their connections. The open ones are functioning, though I’m unable to launch anything new, even from the Windows Start menu.
