Occasional system restart issues Failure to boot consistently Temporary power or hardware problems
The PC has been facing this recurring problem for several years. When powered on, the keyboard flashes, then disappears and reappears, while the monitor fails to turn on completely. The only sound is the fans spinning. Usually I resolve it by powering off the machine, disconnecting the power source, and waiting a short time. If that doesn’t help, I repeat the process several times until it starts working again. This issue used to be occasional but has grown more frequent, needing many attempts to fix. Can you find a way to pinpoint the cause and permanently solve this?
If this situation keeps appearing more often, it’s worth trying to recreate the problem. The cause could be any connected device on your PC. My main worry is the RAM. To check, remove a stick and see if the issue persists. If it doesn’t, that component is likely the culprit. Next, inspect the GPU—remove it entirely and retest. Still no fix? Then examine your USB devices. If that doesn’t help, your motherboard might be the problem. I’m not familiar with CPU-related occurrences, so that’s unlikely unless you’re running an overclock on a 9700K. In that case, revert any overclock settings back to defaults before proceeding with further tests.
Thank you for the advice. I’ll check it out to see if I accidentally overclocked it, though I’m pretty sure that didn’t happen. The issue is tricky because it happens sporadically and sometimes just by turning the device on and off. I’ve already removed and reinserted all parts before, but nothing worked. Occasionally for months there’s no problem, then suddenly it resurfaces after weeks. Since I don’t have backup GPUs or RAM to test, I’ll probably try this as a final option.
