Hello, I'm dealing with some mouse issues on Windows, especially when accessing display settings and turning on a second monitor. The lag seems to appear mainly during app launches—like when the Steam window opened after starting. It’s not like Windows is broken, but it could be related to either software or hardware. Games are running fine on this machine without regular stutters or delays. I’m using a remote desktop for my remote work from home and occasionally experience these delays, just in case they affect performance. Also, while playing RDR2, my FPS stayed the same or dropped after upgrading RAM, so I restarted the game and got better performance afterward. This is just a few unusual observations. My system specs are: ASUS TUF Gaming X570-PRO (Wi-Fi), Ryzen 5 5600X, running at around 40°C normally, peaking near 60°C under load. The graphics card is an EVGA RTX 3070 Ti with Corsair Vengeance RGB, 16GB at 3600MHz, Corsair RM750x (2021). Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated.

You might want to test your older RAM again, though Windows often behaves unpredictably. For remote desktop, the issue could stem from hardware acceleration or extra input/output redirection on the desktop. Which remote desktop service are you using? RDP, VMWare Horizon, Azure Desktop, and AWS Workspaces are the primary options, each with its own client software. It’s likely the app you’re accessing has a desktop client associated with it.

Thanks for the response. In brief, I rely on my desktop PC as a backup because the program doesn’t run well on my MacBook. If RDS from Microsoft is the issue, I’ll focus less on it and switch back to using my Mac once it’s resolved.
