Hello, I’m experiencing unexpected PC restarts with a grey screen and automatic reboot after pressing restart. System details: Ryzen 5 5600X Strix b550-i (latest BIOS), 32GB Corsair RAM, MSI 7900 XTX, Corsair sf1000l, Windows 11. Previously had 2080s and an 850W PSU, both upgraded recently. The problem occurred even with those older units, which is why I upgraded them—I thought it might be a power supply issue. I’ve connected the PC to three different circuits in my flat, tested various surge protectors and cables to the PSU, and disassembled/rebuilt the machine to check if reseating parts helped. My current thought is it could be related to the CPU/Motherboard, but I can run Prime95 for two hours without issues, yet crash or restart when trying YouTube videos or games. I’m at a loss for a clear diagnosis and would really appreciate any advice.

It seems your GPU stopped working. Would you like to know possible causes or next steps?

It works smoothly on the GPU without any problems. It doesn’t appear to be caused by load or power constraints.

However, attempting to play it causes the program to crash? That's odd—perhaps check for memory issues.

Also, furmark isn't very RAM-heavy, so you should verify your VRAM. There might be a DOS utility for this issue. I've noticed repair experts using it, though I don't have a copy.

Consider using a DOS program for compatibility or troubleshooting. The latest hardware or software update that addresses these random restarts might relate to an AMD GPU problem or a driver issue. During the switch from Nvidia to AMD, what steps did you take—did you install or remove any drivers?

It seems Chrome itself can cause the system to crash. Since the problem began, I’ve replaced all parts except the CPU and motherboard. I also performed a complete driver removal between the GPUs but recently installed Windows on a fresh C drive, eliminating any NVIDIA-AMD conflicts. Right now I’m using the Windows Memory Diagnostic tool, and afterward I plan to run OCCT for my GPU.

It seems the GPU isn't overly demanding, but maybe the issue lies with RAM. You could test by using one stick and another type of slot, checking if the problem persists.

Generally ram will make windows throw a BSOD, like generally IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, since everything was fine before his upgrade I would say it's something with the new hardware. in control panel there's a reliability monitor that records every crash, check on that and see if windows manages to capture anything. And besure that you used DDU to uninstall previous driver but in the case of AMD/NVIDIA swaps i would say it's safe tho. A unused driver can't break your system this badly. Incase of ram, try doing a TM5 test, not the stock one cuz it kinda sucks, try anta 777 extreme/1usmus.
