Hey everyone, I've faced quite a few freezing issues lately. It started after upgrading to a newer CPU. For about two to three hours, everything works perfectly. But then, whenever I open a game or program that's been running, the system gradually freezes. It only comes back when I forcefully shut it down. In these moments, it seems like the software stops responding completely—like trying to click something in an open Chrome tab won't work at all. Even though the system still makes sound and reacts to mouse movements, it doesn't respond to other inputs. The latest BIOS update was installed recently, but it didn’t solve the issue. I’m not sure what’s causing these freezes. Could you help me out?

System stats:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X (no overclocking), running at normal temps and speed
- Motherboard: MSI B450 Gaming Plus Max
- RAM: Two 32GB G.Skill modules at 1333MHz
- GPU: Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3060 Ti
- Storage: Crucial SSD (256GB) + Samsung SSD (2TB, mainly for Steam and apps) – last replaced on warranty after a previous failure
- Monitor: Acer 27-inch
- OS: Windows 10 Professional 22H2

Are there any complete disks available? With DDR speeds at 2666Mhz, is XMP/DOCP activated? When did this trend begin? Was there a recent update to software or hardware that triggered the issue?

Hi, XMP needs to be disabled and all drives must have free space. The one nearing is my boot SSD with 30 GB left. The issue began after switching from the Ryzen 7 2700X to the Ryzen 5 5600X. It only happened a few weeks or months later.

The issue stems from compatibility problems. The XMP profile may worsen performance, and running at 2700x didn’t work well initially. Faster settings like 5600x can better support higher RAM speeds than 2700x.

Yes, the system wouldn't begin unless both 2700X and XMP were activated. I haven't really considered XMP since then. I'll check again tomorrow, thanks!
