Occasional BSOD problems
Hello! I’ve faced a persistent blue-screen problem with my PC for several years. After checking forums and trying various fixes, I finally reached out for help recently. So far, I’ve manually verified all drivers, reinstalled Windows 10 (and upgraded to 11), runmed memtest with no errors, replaced my power supply, sent in a RAM return, and updated the BIOS to the latest version. The issue still appears consistently—usually with a “tear” in the middle of the screen, making it impossible to view details. It happens anytime: browsing, editing, rendering, gaming, or even when the PC is idle. Recent blue screens I’ve encountered include: writing read-only memory, IRQL not less than or equal, Kmode exception unhandled, kernel security check failure, unexpected kernel trap, page fault in nonpaged area, system service exception, and driver IRQL not less than or equal. I’ve tried both methods A and B to retrieve the necessary files, but “perfmon /report” keeps refusing to save and says it’s collecting data indefinitely. I’ve attached some screenshots of the affected displays for reference. My system specs are: Windows 11, Ryzen 5 3600, Gigabyte Rx 5700 XT, motherboard Gigabyte x470 AOROUS Ultra Gaming PSU, Seasonic Focus GX 850, 4x8GB TridentZ RGB (3200MHz), using two 16GB SSDs, a 2TB Toshiba drive (7200RPM), and an Intel AX200 Wi-Fi chip from Amazon.
A common problem involves ftmlgr. sys, a Windows feature that checks your hard drives and SSDs for issues. It might indicate a faulty drive, especially if Windows is running. A tool exists to assist, though it doesn't catch everything—just look for signs of bad drives and consider using Crystal Disk Info, available at https://crystalmark.info/en/software/crystaldiskinfo/.
I'm not familiar with using crystaldiskmark for troubleshooting. I completed the benchmark and shared a screenshot of the results. If you need help interpreting them, let me know. I believe fltmgr.sys might be the main issue, but I haven't captured any further details yet.
