It could simply be the windows handling things incorrectly—sending corrupted updates. If you were in my shoes, I’d install a bootable linux distribution like Ubuntu and run some stability tests on it. Once confirmed everything works, I’d attempt to roll back the latest Windows update if possible.
I enjoy using Ubuntu, especially on my laptop for years, but my main game is GTA Online with Battle-eye. They haven’t turned on Linux support even though it’s just a few clicks away... I also have a 4080 Super that runs slower on Linux than the 9070XT. I’m considering rolling back the updates to see if it helps, since most of these updates seem more like style changes with co-pilot.
@Akumatie how long did you run MemTest86 for? With 32GB of memory, it might take several hours or even overnight to fully check the entire capacity. A clear warning sign is system instability or blue screens when RAM usage goes past a specific limit—for example, the system stays stable until around 19GB. If that problematic RAM area is triggered, crashes occur. Error 7E is a very common and generic error code.
The RAM test took roughly three hours and cleared all four checks. I initially assumed it was RAM-related, but I’m not sure. During bluescreening, it sometimes occurs during boot and causes update failures. I can run the whole system memory with tabs and games without a bluescreen.
Navigate to C:\Windows\Minidump and verify presence of minidump files. If found, return to Windows and transfer the Minidump directory to the Downloads folder (desktop works if OneDrive isn't syncing). Compress the copied folder and include it in a post.
