OC tips for 3570K and AsRock Z77 Pro3
Hello, I’m a beginner in overclocking, please keep that in mind.
Also, English isn’t my first language, so some words might sound awkward.
😀
Here’s what I’ve tried so far:
I set the multiplier to 42x (with 43x BSODs on Prime), adjusted the offset to -0.025V, and added a turbo offset of +0.004V.
The LLC voltage is at 0% and it seems this board doesn’t respond well to overclocking.
I’ve also enabled SpeedStep and other energy-saving features, not aiming for maximum overclock but for better longevity and power efficiency.
😉
After about 15 minutes of testing with IntelBurnTest, the CPU cores reached temperatures between 89 and 94°C, with a Vcore around 1.200V (average 1.190V).
In real-world gaming like GTA V, these temps stayed well below 70°C.
Should I push the frequency higher than 4.2GHz, targeting 4.3–4.5GHz by tweaking the offset? Would the improvement in FPS and especially minimum frames per second be noticeable, staying within about 1%?
Also, what are the safe voltage and temperature limits for continuous use if I still want this board to last many years? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I’m not looking to mess up the CPU or make it fragile.
Hello, you'll see significant improvements by overclocking your GPU. Additional CPU overclocks won't provide much extra gaming performance. Temperatures under 80°C are ideal. Focus more on keeping your CPU temperature in check than adjusting voltage. If you experience crashes or freezes later, think about reducing the multiplier or boosting voltage.
Boost your LLC settings to enhance system stability. If you're using a standard cooler, upgrade it. Replace your thermal paste if it's been a year (use 4+ W/M.K.) – this makes a noticeable impact. Adding more fans can also help, improving airflow and cooling across the motherboard.
Good luck with your overclocking!
