OC setup for B550 Asus ROG Strix Gaming-E
OC setup for B550 Asus ROG Strix Gaming-E
Hello everyone, I have a question. I just purchased the board for 180$ and noticed it arrived a bit late: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=38BmSrYMY2w. In the video, they discuss significant memory issues due to the layout, especially in the XE version. It seems the board gets damaged easily during the demonstration. I’m curious if anyone has overclocked their memory here and how far they went. I was really drawn to the Aorus Elite AX V2, but then I realized PCB layers affect performance. I also learned about the PRO V2 for a much lower price, around 30€ less. What do you think? Are memory overclocking problems that severe?
You aim to push performance further than standard settings allow, seeking tangible gains in speed. Consider the RAM you currently use or intend to purchase. Real-world benefits tend to drop sharply once you exceed 3600M/T’s CL16 specifications.
I just started exploring OC, wanted to grasp the basics and give it a try. Everything went smoothly from the beginning thanks to the good PCB design. It was noted that even XMP/DOCP configurations are subpar. I’m using a Crucial Ballistix 32GB, 3600, CL16-18-18-38. The advice was to go with a 5900x, not the 3600M/T CL16.
