Hi, I'm trying to overclock my FX8350 with the MSI 970gaming board. The issue is that the multiplier stays at 7 even though I set it to 23 in BIOS. Turbo Off and CiQ are both off. What's happening? PD: Is disabling CPU smart protection multiplier stay at 23 okay?

Are they Black Editions? If not, I wouldn't be surprised if you can't overclock them.
Black editions are the sole CPUs with unlocked multipliers.

Are you asking if it's a Black Edition? If not, you might be surprised to learn it can't be overclocked. Black editions are the sole CPUs with unlocked multipliers.
