OC i5 2500k to 4.3Mhz+ compatible with Lepa or Cooler Master
Hello everyone. I'm considering installing an OC on my i5 2500K with either the Lepa LPWAC120-HF or the Cooler Master RL-S12V-24PK-R2 water cooling system. I'm unsure which one will perform best, but based on the reviews I've read, the Lepa seems to be a better choice.
Can it be possible to achieve a clock speed of 4.3 or even 4.5 MHz with either option?
P.S.: My motherboard is a P8P67 if that matters.
all this chatter about coolers. I'm using a Hyper 212 plus, which is a generation ahead of the 212 Evo. My 2600k has been overclocked to 4.5ghz for four and a half years now. You don't really need extreme cooling unless you're pushing some advanced vcore.
So for now I have to go with a regular cooler, but... I thought a water cooling cooler would work too. The H80i is a bit over my budget. However, I've heard the Hyper 212EVO would perform just as well as the Hyper 212X.
The 212 EVO holds its own, but it's beginning to show signs of wear. The Cryorig H7 is now the preferred choice. 120mm AIO water coolers aren't a good deal. They don't significantly outperform air coolers, they're noisier, cost more, and are prone to failure.
