I am trying to use an old computer for a project and want to get the most power from it. There are built-in features in the BIOS that let me overclock, but they all seem locked away. I don't know how to turn them on or off. The CPU ratio setting is set to "Auto," and clicking that does nothing. I can't change it manually either. My motherboard is an Asus P7H55D-M Pro, which is sold specifically for its ability to handle high speeds. My CPU is an Intel Core i5-760, which people say can go pretty fast if tweaked. I don't want to make any wild changes, just a little boost. But nothing works. I guess I'm missing something simple here. I need some help out of this.

Did you update your BIOS settings? You should also hit the Advanced tab and look at the Chipset config. There could be something turned off that stops you from overclocking.

I figured it out, but not everything worked as expected. Turning CPU Differential Amplitude to manual didn't let me see all the features I wanted, though a few other settings did work. It wasn't clear to me either how to change values set to "Auto" using the plus and minus buttons. Pressing enter didn't do anything, even though I could test other options that way.
