Oc 3570k on Evga Z77 FTW
Hey, I set this up for a while without pushing it too hard. I want to get more performance from it without gaming, since it's used for trading platforms like TraderBot that favor CPU and high-frequency tasks. It runs heavily for about 30 minutes before things calm down. I currently have a Prolimaire Megashadow cooler and a Corsair H100i GTX on another CPU that I don’t use. If you're starting out, what voltage and frequency should I begin with? Ideally around 4.4 to 4.5 GHz. You mentioned an EVGA 650 P2 PSU—would that work? Thanks!
Avoid exceeding 1.5v on the CPU. Refer to an older discussion for more details.
4.4 is essentially straightforward for about 90% of the IB K series CPUs. 4.5 and higher present a much bigger challenge, usually needing superior cooling solutions (your setup should handle it if your TIM isn’t severely degraded). I’d suggest beginning around 1.29v and 4.3ghz. According to my experience, this range allowed me to successfully boot all three of my 3570Ks, with one even running smoothly at 4.4ghz at that voltage. You might need to clean the CPU at this stage just in case.
