Audio and game experiences with crashes
Recently, I made several upgrades to my PC and have encountered this problem.
Updated components include:
- RAM upgraded to Corsair 32GB DDR5 vengeance sticks (6000mhz, currently set to auto speed 4800 in BIOS)
- ASRock B650M Pro RS motherboard
- Ryzen 7 7800X3D CPU
- A secondhand 3060 GPU (acquired from a family member; previously functional in his setup)
- C750 Bronze NZXT power supply
- Three HDDs and two SSDs connected, including one NVME drive

Existing components:
- C750 Bronze NZXT power supply
- Three HDDs and two SSDs (one NVME)
- CPU cooler (likely Corsair H50, though not confirmed)

Testing has shown:
- I primarily tested the new RAM sticks; initial errors in Memtest 86 disappeared afterward.
- Memtest results remain consistent when both RAM slots are swapped or tested separately.
- Occasionally, the PC fails to boot into BIOS when both sticks are inserted. This incident occurred once and has not repeated since reinsertion.
- Crash behavior is intermittent—only happens occasionally, sometimes after prolonged use (about 2 hours before crash).
- The crash does not trigger a BSOD but simply shuts down the system and restarts it, leaving no error code displayed.

It appears this issue has arisen sporadically over the past few days, with no clear cause identified yet.
I’m seeking advice and would appreciate any assistance!

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!
Consider listing your specifications in this format:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
RAM:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
Include the age of the PSU along with its make and model. Also, note the BIOS version for your motherboard at this time. Because you recently upgraded, we'll compare the original and current specs.
Did you reinstall the OS after the upgrade?
It's a Corsair H50, though I'm not 100% sure.
If it is an H50, your cooling setup may be insufficient. You should aim for at least a 280mm or higher.

CPU: Ryzen 7 7800X3D
CPU cooler: Corsair H50
Motherboard: ASRock B650M Pro RS
Memory: Corsair 32GB DDR5 vengeance 6000 MHZ (No OC)
Storage: 2x SSD and 3x HDD as listed below:
Kingston SA2000M8100G
Samsung SSD 850 EVO 250GB
ST1000DM003-1SB102
ST2000DM006-2DM164
WD3200AAJS-00B4A0
GPU: Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060
Power Supply: C750 Bronze NZXT (Approximately 20 months old, purchased late 2022)
Chassis: Coolermaster CM690III Green
Operating System: Windows 11 Home Version 20.0.22631
Display: I use two monitors, as shown below:
Main display: LG 27MR400-B 100Hz 27 inch
Second display: IIyama 24.5 Inch 75Hz G2530H
Concern about the H50 cooler: Thank you for informing me. I’ll investigate further, but my crashes and audio problems usually start within 15 minutes of power-on, sometimes as quickly as 1-2 minutes. These seem to stem from audio issues rather than cables or microphones, and I’ve checked Discord too. The audio problems in Discord are separate; however, when the PC is about to restart, I notice audio stuttering in games or apps, and performance drops sharply until a crash occurs shortly after.

I did upgrade from windows 10 to 11, but didn't do a fresh install after that. If that is a possible cause then I will go and do that tomorrow after I get home from work.
Just as a sidenote because I'm genuinely interested: I know that a fresh install of windows can help prevent app specific issues, but can it also cause more widespread issues like what I am experiencing? Or are you asking for a different reason?

Is it the issue I'm not able to identify that's giving you trouble, but I can share what I know.
After updating the motherboard, there are three possible results.
1. It functions properly (rare).
2. It fails to operate.
3. It operates but your troubles persist for a long time.
REMEMBER You might want to cast a vote here and most people would agree that starting with a fresh install is the best approach. If you choose to proceed, ensure all drives are disconnected except the one for Windows installation.

Thank you for your kind words. After a fresh installation, I'm currently reinstalling some games and software. I'll be using my PC as before and will let you know if any further problems occur, updating accordingly!

Latest update: I haven't experienced any hard reboots or restarts so far, though I've recently faced issues with the microphone audio becoming choppy. I've also experimented with connecting the mic to the front USB on the case and directly into the motherboard, but both methods still cause similar problems.
