Typically Apu is aimed at budget builds, so it's likely a 4C/8th with Apu. If you're looking at the 8/16 market, you'll probably want to buy a GPU too. The main reason for choosing Apu in that range is troubleshooting.

They already offered APUs before, and they’re not necessarily pricier than regular models. There are several factors that make more cores appealing even without a dedicated GPU.

This caused me to get mixed up when he presented the test benchmarks. For Intel, their IGPs worked well with Adobe Premiere Pro but not for gaming. With Ryzen, it didn’t perform as expected either. If they released an 8-core/16-thread APU, it could replace those 6/12-core CPUs for 1080p gaming.
