Hey there, I've been thinking about this for a while. Have you seen how YouTube at 60fps looks smoother than the game itself? I've noticed this a few times—sometimes the game runs at a steady 60fps but doesn't feel as smooth as the footage on a YouTube clip. I've seen it in several titles (Witcher 3, Syndicate, BF4). Used to think it was just my monitor's refresh rate and latency, like when you walk into a department store and compare TVs. But now I'm not so sure with YouTube. My setup is a Samsung 24B370 with an i7-3770K, Asus GTX 970, 16GB RAM, no SSD.

It might relate to the idea that playing a video back can reduce lag more than other methods.

This happens because you're inputting data directly into the game. You experience the same thing as someone else playing.

I play fake games and receive far more video improvements than a web browser does.

Due to frame latency issues related to how your GPU connects to your monitor, the video may appear less smooth. The problem isn't fully understood, but there are solutions like Adaptive Sync (G-Sync and FreeSync). Even with these fixes, intense gaming can make it hard to notice the improvements. It's like having a very powerful GPU—just set all video options to their lowest settings and play, and you'll maintain around 60 frames per second without drops.

I believe the problem might be there. I plan to record some gameplay to check.

I personally tried it once. My gameplay seemed noticeably more fluid after recording compared to playing live.

Just tested it and its true, somehow immersion cancels out your personal distinction of the fps. This is an Amazing Phenomenon!

Execute the ULTRA heaven test and attempt to watch the same video on YouTube despite your belief in YouTube's better quality. Consider getting glasses if needed.

He didn’t mention it was higher quality. You misunderstood his comment—he means that seeing someone play a game on YouTube at 60FPS looks smoother than playing the game itself at that frame rate. There’s no reference to visual detail.
