Last night I played Warframe and suddenly my monitors went dark. Still, I could hear my friends on Discord and other sounds. I had to press the power button to shut it down, but when I tried to restart, no image appeared. I’m using one HDMI 2.1 port and one DP port. I changed the ports on the GPU and it didn’t help. The RGB lights still work, which makes me think the card is alive. My guess is the GPU is dead because everything else seems fine. After booting into Windows, I checked via other components’ RGB and Discord status—everything looked normal. If you have any tips or fixes, please share. I’d rather not buy a new GPU just in case.

Specs:
- Motherboard: MSI Z790 Carbon
- CPU: i7 13700K
- GPU: Gigabyte Windforce 3080ti (3000 series)
- RAM: 32GB, 6000MHz DDR5
- PSU: 1000W Corsair
- Monitors: 4K 144Hz Acer panel + 1080p 360Hz Alienware panel
- Connectivity: HDMI 2.1 for Acer, DP for Alienware

Update: Integrated graphics are showing a proper image now, supporting the dead GPU theory. Update 2: Confirmed GPU is indeed dead.

The 30xx line from Gigabyte is often reported to fail prematurely. Check online for similar issues. It’s possible your card has experienced this too. Consider asking a friend to use another GPU to verify the PCI-E connection remains functional.

I knew about Gigabyte too. After trying it out, I used my 1080Ti and everything worked great, which probably made the 3080Ti stop working. Big win!

I purchased it recently. Have you looked into whether you still have the warranty active?

Purchased it in October 2022; their site mentions a 3-year warranty. However, considering the issues with Gigabyte's 3000 series, I'm likely feeling pretty frustrated.

Actually a known documented fault with their 30xx series should make your warranty claim more valid, if it's just what that happened. Check the pci-e pins and that L shaped lock thing beside it. Is there a crack anywhere there? If there is you can point to that, and mention that it's a typical fault of their 30xx series.
