Hello, I'm assisting a friend with his PC setup. He has a NZXT prebuilt system featuring an i5 12600K. The BIOS reads around 40°C, but once the PC starts and NZXT Cam appears, the temperatures spike by over 100 degrees in both the NZXT Cam and core temp. When I close NZXT Cam, the readings return to 40°C. He ran Cinebench r15 with a score of 2399 and temperatures at 75°C. After uninstalling and reinstalling the new NZXT Cam version, the same issue persists. Is there something unusual with the NZXT Cam affecting this behavior? I'm not familiar with it and notice it overheats quickly once the system is open.

I haven't tried that app before. Did you update the app recently? Maybe a configuration file, settings profile, or leftover data from the previous version was processed? Is there an option to revert back to the default settings in that app? If none of that works, it might be best to avoid using it altogether.

It seems the configuration file wasn't found in the roaming apps, though it might have stored some unusual settings.

It appears the pump was either stopped or set to minimal operation. Were you tracking its rotational speed throughout the process?

When NZXT cam begins, the LCD screen shuts down, which feels like a broken program.

I only checked the pump speed when the cam was open and then it jumped from 20-30 to 100 in just a few seconds. Before that, as soon as the cam opened, temperatures rose from 20-30 to 100 within about five seconds. If I turned off the NZXT Cam, Cinebench and 3DMark ran perfectly with stable temps. Now it's not overheating, but the LCD screen is shutting down. It seems NZXT Cam might have recently had some issues.
