Looking for a motherboard that fits an Intel i7 3770, connects NVMe SSDs using a PCIe 3.0 adapter and outperforms SATA drives. The Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD3R Rev 1.3 might be a good option.

I’m not familiar with any LGA 1155 boards that use NVMe. The only known examples are on LGA1150, which offered limited support.

Why? Are you moving large files or something else? Otherwise, you won’t see any difference between NVMe and SATA SSDs. You might connect a PCIe adapter in the lowest PCIe 3.0 port, but it will only support SATA SSDs, not NVMe SSDs. This means you can only use SATA SSDs or SATA M.2 SSDs.
