NVMe M2M.2 NVMe SSD performance under SATA rates
NVMe M2M.2 NVMe SSD performance under SATA rates
I own an Aorus RGB NVME 512MB SSD with a PCIe3 interface. Performance is generally stable, reaching over 3400 MB/s read speeds. Write speeds have dropped significantly—now hovering below 600 MB/s intermittently, sometimes spiking briefly but mostly staying under the threshold. According to CrystalDiskInfo, it's running around 95%, and I've owned this drive for several years. Temperatures are consistently near 53°C, which is a bit high for such a model. It could be the heat affecting stability or just the age of the drive. I've attempted a cold boot and changed M.2 slots without resolving the issue. Should I consider replacing it?
I'm not sure about the details. It seems like you were checking if your M.2 drives are performing better, but they might be lagging when switching between drives.
Use CrystalDisk Mark and 1gb test for precise speed evaluation. The Task Manager isn't ideal for this purpose. If needed, open the BIOS and verify that your M.2 slots are configured for NVME instead of SSD mode; otherwise, they'll operate at reduced performance.
