NVME issues NVME problems NVMe related concerns
Hello, welcome to the Forum. My friend is facing issues starting his new SSD M.2 card. He’s using a KingSpec NX Series 2TB with an Asrock B450M. We’ve been adjusting settings in the BIOS without success. I’m considering using an adapter and transferring existing files onto the new drive, though I’m unsure if that will resolve the problem. Could anyone suggest possible solutions?
Are you checking if your friend is attempting to boot from the updated storage? If yes, install Windows on the new drive, adjust the BIOS settings to prioritize it as the startup device, and move all your data from the previous drive to the new one. If he merely wants a backup option, simply connect and use it without modifying the BIOS.
Arush has the correct point. Just a reminder, avoid purchasing king spec SSDs.
You're asking about different scenarios regarding Windows installation on an NVMe drive. It seems you're unsure whether Windows is already set up but not bootable, hasn't been installed at all, or you've tried installing but failed. The options suggest checking if the system recognizes Windows, preparing a bootable USB, or cloning your current setup to a new drive. There are many guides available online for these steps.
