Hey there, I understand your situation. In Brazil, our NVME options are limited, mainly WD Blues, ADATA Spectrix and Swordfish. The challenge is that I usually check Gigabyte’s Support page for my board model, searching for the correct part number like the Samsung Evo 970 Plus MZ-V7E500. Sometimes I can’t find stock, and other times I spot listings that show 500GB chips but not the codes for 1TB or 2TB. The main concern is whether adding four M.2 drives on the board and another four in the AIC Controller affects compatibility with the Support list. It’s definitely a bit frustrating.

NVME AICs typically ignore compatibility issues since they simply divide the PCIe lanes they connect into multiple M.2 slots listed on the AIC. The same applies to M.2 slots on the motherboard, provided they are appropriately sized and correctly keyed.

M.2 slots include several connectors, designed to prevent users from inserting mismatched modules. For storage, three standard options exist: B key, M key, and a combination (B+M/M+B).
