I discovered the reason for my slow performance in CSGO isn't constant lag, but occasional spikes every few to a couple of seconds. I tried disabling Nvidia ShadowPlay and it helped. The issue still persists, especially when recording with ShadowPlay. My system specs are: Intel i7-4770K, no OC, GTX 770, 8GB RAM, 1600MHz, 1TB SSD, 7200RPM.

You likely have the video saved and the game set up on the same hard drive, but for optimal frame rates during recording, it’s better to use a different storage device. This makes a big difference.

You can always save matches later and capture them from then on.

You can choose your setup wisely. Running them in RAID offers better reliability and performance, while keeping one HDD for recordings might be simpler. The best option depends on your priorities—storage speed, redundancy, and backup needs.

I previously relied on an external hard drive for live recordings. It’s a good idea, but you have flexibility with how you manage the HDD.
