Nvidia released an update, but users still face a black screen problem.
I just installed the GPU driver via nvidia, version 572..16 which was released on January 30th, 2025. Typically, once it's done the screen goes black and everything resumes normal operation. However, that didn't happen. With dual monitors, both were off, restarted them but received no signal from the PC. I left it idle for five minutes while looking for a fix. Then I powered down the PC. After it booted up, everything functioned properly. The Nvidia update confirmed it's up to date. I refreshed it to verify. Should I be concerned? All details match the Nvidia system info report from February 1st, 2025 at 11:20 AM. The current version is 11.0.2.312, running on Windows 11 Pro, DirectX 12, and the GPU is AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D with an RTX 4070 Ti. I'm still checking everything to be sure.
If it functions, it performs well. Consider applying DDU prior to installing the updated drivers the following time.
