I shared this post yesterday but need to repeat it since I couldn't resolve my problem. I've experimented with various solutions, possibly missing something here. A clean installation might be the best option. My CPU usage stays around 10-20% in balanced power mode, and power consumption is near 20 watts—significantly lower than usual. Previously, it was about 5-7 watts with minimal usage. When I stopped the specific NVIDIA GPU service, things returned to normal. I'm using the latest driver for my GT710, released last October. This issue is frustrating because I suspect problems with the motherboard or CPU, even though I recently had my CPU refurbished and the motherboard serviced. There are no crashes or hangs, so everything seems fine. In power-saving mode, the CPU uses minimal resources as expected. I've looked into NVIDIA drivers, but they were fixed in March last year, making this situation confusing. My attempts included: installing an older driver, using safe and normal modes, running Revo Uninstaller, using only necessary graphics drivers via nvcleaninstall, flashing BIOS, and resetting to default settings. I also tried a reset of the balanced power plan.
It looks like the problem was resolved by changing to a standard setup. Initially, using BlackViper Tweak for services caused an issue, but once switched back to normal settings, everything worked properly. The real cause turned out to be viruses—Malwarebytes detected 20 malware files, and after rebooting, the system functioned as expected.
