Your power supply is supposed to handle 1kW, but you only have 2 years left on the warranty since you bought it new.

It was like chaining things together, but I should have provided the 3090 2 8pin power cables. At first it was only getting 1, and maybe it's still under warranty. I tried another one too, but nothing worked. I'm planning to attempt it once more, going through all possible steps before considering a replacement or repair.

this won’t harm your card—it’s more likely affecting your PSU. each 8-pin can handle up to 150W, but with two you’re drawing 300W from a cable that could deliver 200-250W. this might cause the cable to overheat, though it won’t damage your GPU. it will simply shut down because it doesn’t get enough power. consider using two new PCIe cables and connecting them to two other PCIe outputs on your PSU if they’re pigtailed—this way you only need one connector per pr cable.
