Not sure if I accidentally shorted the motherboard, or if I'm overlooking something
I purchased new PC components, intending to reuse my old ATX case. I didn’t realize it was designed only for that board and its internal cables, so I couldn’t connect the power cable or the PC speaker. The motherboard I bought is here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09NWF...prod_image. It comes with a GTX 1650 GPU that I acquired after buying a prebuilt PC. I installed everything, reset the CPU once, and everything seemed normal for a while. I didn’t fully mount the motherboard because I needed to move it in and out of the case. Windows would restart slowly and become very sluggish. I wanted to reinstall to check if the issue was with the CPU or something else. It turned out after several restarts it was a capture card installer. I updated the BIOS, reinstalled Windows, and tried setting up internet services, Cortana, etc. After restarting, the screen stayed black, the GPU sped up suddenly, and the monitor went dark. It doesn’t display anything, and every time I restart the PC it just shows no input while the GPU runs at full speed. Things I’ve tried: putting the GPU, RAM, and power supply back on another motherboard—everything works fine there. The GPU functions properly there. Re-sitting the GPU repeatedly, power cable, HDMI, CPU, RAM—I think I may have shorted it out and disrupted everything, but I was hoping to explore other solutions before buying a new one.
