Not sure how to install or use mobile drivers?
Processing this format change often leaves me uncertain. I'm trying to access the starting drivers at the provided link, but I'm unsure if I should install the Intel SATA Preinstall driver or not. It seems the RAID setup is confusing me. Are I missing something about the SATA controller? Also, do I need Marvell Storage Utility and the Marvell Console Driver?
I don't rely on those built-in drivers; I've worked well without them for AHCI.
It varies whether you're using Marvell ports. They appear as the gray ones. However, based on your memory of the motherboard manual, you likely won't need drivers unless you plan to implement RAID with those Marvell ports.
I put one in and didn’t recognize it beforehand, so I got rid of it (I’ve never even heard of a Marvell port...) I needed a shop to set it up because I couldn’t handle obsolete parts, so they added all the components, but honestly it wasn’t something I was used to.
