Not sure about the current values of used MB prices.
I recently upgraded to a new setup and decided to sell my old components. After researching my mainboard, I was surprised by how much its used value has risen—MSI Z390 Gaming Plus now sells for around 200€. Back then, when I bought it with a 9600k, I paid about 120€. Why does the used market value it so much higher than the original retail price?
Motherboard costs vary widely on platforms like eBay. Sometimes premium boards drop to very low prices, other times they sell for significant amounts without clear trends. If you check recent sales, you'll see more realistic values.
I didn't realize you could check past item prices since I don't often use eBay. I'm still working through all the pricing details for my old specs.
Motherboard costs have really soared in recent times. Usually the newest models come with a high price tag. Old ones that were phased out often cost less. Boards released more than 5 years ago usually match the price of new ones, but after that gap narrows again. This isn't a strict rule—it depends on which platform is popular and many other factors.
