Sorry, my English isn't very clear. I can't install the OS on my use SSD. I've built a few PCs before, around ten, and I haven't had this issue before. I used an SSD for storing games, and now my brother wants me to build him a PC. Every time I try to install the OS, it says it can't load the driver. And whenever I switch to RAID mode, I can't see my SSD where I chose to boot from. You notice the selection. It seems like I'm missing something because I've formatted this SSD three times.

Are you running AHCI mode? Consider switching to IDE mode to check if your SSD uses RAID during a fresh installation, unless you're setting up RAID with two or more drives.

AHCI is definitely the right setting. Consider booting the drive from another machine first, so your new system recognizes the SSD. Reminder: ensure the SSD is set as the main boot device or at least avoid making the USB drive the primary boot source. This adjustment should be completed prior to installing Windows.

your usb device uses a usb 3.0 connection; if you have a usb 2 port, it might not work properly.

Interesting question. The reason the installer might not see the SSD could be because it relies on the USB connection to detect the drive. Since the system boots from the USB, the installer wouldn't have direct access to the SSD during setup.

I don’t have any clear idea, but I install Windows around 1000 times each year (I run a data center) and it consistently encounters the same problem when using a USB 3 port.

I need some assistance too. I was using version 3.0, but I gave up and started using a DVD. I run my PC to begin the setup, and once it's finished, I connect the SSD and everything works perfectly.

Also worth noting is installing from the SSD directly—no USB or DVD required. Check it out here: http://www.instructables.com/id/Install-...out-upgra/
