Hello, I'm working on upgrading my 2x8GB Corsair Vengeance LPX 3600 from 2133Mhz to its rated 3600Mhz. However, my PC shuts down if I enable XMP settings. Here are the details: Ryzen 7 2700, APU with 4 cores, 8GB RAM, 3600Mhz clock speed, Bequiet 650W power supply, and a GTX 760 GPU. I need advice on how to proceed.

Your RAM XMP profile isn’t working well on your board. Start by adjusting the settings gradually to see where stability returns. Open BIOS, enable XMP, and set the RAM speed to 3400MHz. If it still doesn’t work, try 3200MHz and continue lowering in small steps until you find a stable setting.

Zen+ and B450/X470 seem quite fitting. B550/X570 slightly boosts memory compatibility, though the memory controller on your 2700 chip still sets the limit. I wouldn't anticipate going past 3200, which is also the optimal range for both Zen and Zen+.

It provided the correct timing and works well at 2866 MHz. It's interesting since most guides suggest focusing on RAM speeds, but this one seems to emphasize stability. Thanks for the help—I'm still getting the hang of hardware stuff!

You purchased Zen+ which was recognized for faster memory performance compared to Zen but had limitations around 3200 cycles most of the time. Zen2 further enhanced speed considerably, raising the optimal performance range to 3600. Users were advised to use Samsung B-Die memory chips for optimal compatibility. Adding a bit more voltage to the memory modules or CPU could help stabilize somewhat inconsistent speeds on both Zen and Zen+, though the top choice with Zen+ remains either a X570 board (B550 is incompatible) or switching to Zen2. The chips are solid, offering strong capabilities and good speeds, with significant improvements from AMD after Zen2 and even more so with Zen3.
