I recently installed new RAM and a motherboard, but setting the XMP profile isn't working. The RAM is supposed to be 3466MHz, yet it still doesn't boot. I've tried 2GHz B450 F2 gaming M.2 slot, and the system is running at 3600MHz with specific timings. My RAM has a base speed of 18-22-22-22 MHz.

I believe 3200mhz was the optimal choice with the initial board setup, using a 2600 and Crucial Ballistix. Achieving "rated" speeds on Zen 1 was challenging, improved slightly on Zen+, but it wasn't until Zen 2 that it became less significant. The positive side is that 3200mhz was seen as the ideal frequency for Zen+ and anything above it offered minimal benefit, essentially becoming outdated.

2600x on b450 will face issues reaching 2933 and higher. I achieved stability on my 2600X at 2866 using vengeance LPX 1.37V with 16-18-18-36 timing.

The chip's memory controller isn't great, especially at 3200MHz. Some high-quality options can reach 3600MHz with the right setup and adjustments, though it's quite challenging.

It functions well at 3200, I noticed some people setting it to 3466, so I wondered if I could try that too.

using the same CPU, Mobo, and RAM as others has proven quite challenging. The 3200MHz clock speed isn’t a major issue for this particular chipset. It’s possible to achieve higher speeds with B-dies, which surprised me—my previous attempts with Corsair/hynix only reached around 3200, but they managed better performance than the hynix. Still, it might not be worth spending extra on new RAM for just a few small improvements. It’s definitely an interesting experiment!

She keeps adjusting your imc voltage regardless of the Ryzen model, checking if you can boost your DDR4 speed. I’ve managed to run a 2200 DDR3 on my X5660 by setting QPI to 1.55V, though uncore at 4000 and DRAM voltage at 2V are still issues. Maybe keeping it under 1.4V would help, since 32nm is expected to perform better than 12nm.
