Not many people find pleasure in AC: Odyssey.
Granted it’s the first AC game I’ve ever played but I see a lot of negative reviews on Steam about it even though I thought it was a fantastic game and one of my favorite games of all time. I loved the huge open world and all the stuff there was to do. The combat also felt really enjoyable because it required skills such as knowing when to strike, when to parry and when to dodge as well as when to Sparta Kick some stinking barbarian bounty hunter off a cliff. Im curious if anyone agrees with me that it’s a great game?
They haven't shown much recent content from Boobisoft. The games look like they're just recycled ideas with fake trailers and lower-quality visuals. The gameplay feels like a list of tasks rather than engaging experiences. Seige had some decent moments, but the main issue is with the 'Ubisoft Standard Sandbox' inspired by Assassin's Creed—everything seems stale now. It's really disappointing.
Isn’t this a positive sign? It shows you’re deriving more value from the game you invested in. Unless you feel it’s stretched on with too much repetition. In that case, I get it. Personally, I gained 200 hours from my first run and then moved to New Game+.
This project keeps the same spirit! I’m a history major who appreciated seeing real places and modern clothing in the setting. The idea of currency was a bit odd, but I have coins—this one is a 4 drachma silver piece from the era. For context, the typical daily pay for someone in Ancient Greece around 500 BC was roughly one drachma. Yet Kassandra carries about 200,000 drachmae without pockets, which would equate to an enormous weight—over 3,436 kilograms or nearly 7,000 pounds of silver. It’s impressive she could move it and climb cliffs with it. They should have used smaller units like obols for transactions and kept the amounts more manageable. One drachma equals six obols.
Yes, it's worth spending time on it, but you must cover all the extra material to progress and earn equipment. I enjoy the games, though I don’t have the time to play nonstop right now.
Resident Evil 3 remake sounds great! Both titles seem doable in a short time, especially with a hardcore setting. I can finish them quickly compared to the usual playthroughs.
This game is one of my top picks. From a historical standpoint, Origins stood out more when I was studying Egyptology in the 70s. I currently rely on Odyssey because it challenges both CPU and GPU. Valhalla feels more manageable. I’m comfortable with long sessions since retirement means I can enjoy them for longer periods.
I also enjoy this game, though I have a slight preference for ancient Greece and its related themes. It was my first open-world experience after Assassins Creed 3, and I appreciated the new gameplay mechanics, particularly the combat. The Odyssey expansion is the part I dislike most—it pushes you into a parent role that felt unnatural, and the Spartan character choice didn’t match the vibe. Still, AC 2 remains the top pick, and Odyssey definitely holds its own. Maybe it’s because it’s fun to criticize Ubisoft, but they’ve produced solid titles in recent years, including Odyssey. The changes they made, while controversial, helped elevate the series.
