You're just starting out with PC building and seeming to run into some issues. Someone here might be able to explain what's happening. You mentioned using four 8GB RAM sticks at 3200MHz, but your motherboard only supports XMP for two sticks. It seems the changes you made didn't take effect, and the system would restart back to 2400MHz. After checking online, it looks like XMP doesn't work with four sticks on this model. You might need to upgrade your motherboard or use a different configuration. Keep trying and don't hesitate to ask more questions!

With more channels available, RAM struggles to maintain advertised speeds. When XMP is enabled on an Intel tuned stick and you're using AMD, stability becomes an issue with multiple sticks and XMP settings. It's usually better to run just two sticks, since most consumer CPUs are designed for dual-channel. You rarely see quad channels unless you're using server or workstation-grade processors, which aren't typically needed for regular consumer use.

According to @TatamiMatt, the memory profile might function only with two sticks. I also experienced the same problem with my 2700X, even with a 2x8GB 3200mhz CL34. It worked when I turned off DOCP(XMP) and instead set frequency, DRAM voltage, and primary timings manually—like 16-18-18-18-38. I think all the sticks are identical and don’t vary in timing setup.

Your Ram could be a 4 stick kit or two 2 stick kits; the latter tends to be less stable. You might manage XMP by slightly loosening the connections, then adjusting the frequency to 3000 instead of 3200, or using a lower CL speed like 18 instead of 16, or tweaking other settings. Zen+ often struggles past 2933 MHz. Running with two sticks at 3200 is impressive. Four sticks put extra strain on the memory controller. It's time to upgrade to a Zen3 CPU.
