I own a powerful machine, but it's been running for nearly a year. I haven't found much satisfaction with its performance lately, especially since I've been pushing it hard. I've only slightly overclocked both the CPU and GPU memory, but I still experience frequent stutters in games and occasional freezes. I often reformat the system and reinstall software, which leaves me running only the bare minimum on the PC. Yet the performance metrics don't match what I expect from a gaming rig I built. I'm unsure what's causing the issue and hope someone here can offer some advice based on my experience.

Attached is a Speccy report of the device.

Hey there!
I just went through all this and yeah....
You have 3 or 4 4K monitors connected to your PC... it’s obvious you’re not getting over 60 FPS in games.
Try using just one 1080P monitor if your old ones are the case, and you’ll notice a big difference in FPS.
It’s true that SLI isn’t exactly the same as it used to be, but it should still function well in most games—especially with only two GPUs.
But don’t think it works for every game! I also experienced crashes when using SLI.
Greetings, Memphisto!

Are you using two 1080s? If yes, consider turning off SLI. Most games run better with just one card, unless the game is specifically set up for SLI.

I'm sure so, and I spent a lot more for SLI because everyone said it's better. You're not surprised at all. Should I configure this way or turn off the physics dedication? Also, with the current setup, my FPS in World of Warcraft is roughly half compared to when Sli was enabled.

Yeah SLI is sorta dead, there are some games that do it well but they are few and even ones that have the SLI ready logo doesn't really mean they run any better, many times they will run worse.
And yes you have it set up correctly, I think theres a way to make it so SLI will disable depending on the game bein launched but its been a long time since I messed with SLI controls.

it doesn't really clarify the fps drop in WoW while using SLI in the same area. With SLI on, I get around 50-60 fps and with sli off and physx handling, it's about 20 or so. It seems something else is affecting performance here. My games usually run smoothly, but my older computer was better than this one—it was around 5 years old. With my stats, I expect over 100 fps, yet I'm not seeing that level of performance in any game.

Unless there are thermal problems, the issue likely lies in the software.

Things to verify include thermals for both CPU and GPUs, memory problems (use Windows memory test or memtest86, download memtest86), driver issues (consider installing the latest versions), and whether the power supply might be the cause—check if it’s adequate or if it seems to be failing.

This doesn’t mean it works perfectly in every title! I also experienced crashes when using SLI.
