The problem likely lies in how the ZeroTier client handles routing and network segmentation between devices. When connected to a GL.iNet router, the client may route traffic differently depending on whether it uses the ZeroTier IP or the LAN IP, affecting access to shared resources. Ensure consistent routing rules so that SMB requests reach the intended server regardless of tunnel type. Also verify that the ZeroTier configuration supports seamless access across both internet and LAN interfaces. Testing with a different device or adjusting network policies might help isolate the cause.

Possible reason for the routing problem is adding a subnet to the routing table. For instance, 192.168.1.0 - 172.168.1.1 (Subnet). Route from the router. If you can't ping the target, it may indicate no route or another issue.

Search for logs on Windows related to the SMB share, checking for any error messages. If issues are found, try adjusting the subnet to match them. If not, switch to Linux and enable verbose logging to get more details.
