Hey @ b45op. Could be useful to add to the FAQ section. Many people want to understand how insurance functions. Insurance for your vessel operates similarly to car insurance—you pay regular credits, and in return, your ship receives coverage. Only the hull is covered; modifications won’t be reimbursed. If your ship suffers damage, you’ll receive a replacement in the same region where you purchased it. This is the core concept. Wear and tear will naturally affect the vessel over time, causing it to become dirty and corroded. There’s also a Lifetime Insurance option (LTI). LTI follows the same logic as Basic Hull Insurance but remains permanent. Once you acquire a ship with LTI, the hull stays insured indefinitely. This type of insurance was included with all ships purchased before November 26, 2013. After that date, it wasn’t available through the RSI Pledge store. There exists a secondary market for LTI ships. Regarding the credits needed to renew Basic Hull Insurance, Chris Robberts mentioned there’s no fixed figure, but it shouldn’t be excessive to maintain your regular operations. Each ship purchased in the Pledge store comes with a specific number of months of BHI included.
