Hey everyone! I've caught a persistent noise from the PSU lately. It seems to have been there since I installed the PC, but I didn't think it was an issue at first. When I checked today, every time the PSU fan started spinning roughly every four minutes, the sound would appear for about one to two minutes. I've attached the recording for reference. What should I do? Fan Noise PSU.mp3

We can ventilate the area. Do you smoke?

It's just a few weeks ago, and I believe the same noise was present from the start. It becomes noticeable only when the PSU fan turns. My PSU is a Corsair RMe Series RM850e Full Modular Low Noise ATX power supply.

I would send it back for replacement. My Evga 1600 G2 model still doesn’t make the fan sound, and it’s currently installed.

I sent it in, but I pulled out all those PSU cables that were really tight. Then, while trying to connect the CPU to the MOBO, I noticed the problem was only halfway through. The sound disappeared completely. Should I worry about damaging the PSU or just continue using it? It worked fine before, right?

as long as you got it all the way in, it should be fine, if something is wrong it would melt it and make it alot harder to plug in. i would check plugs and sockets for any visible damage tho.
