Noise from the Ethernet connection in a coil.
Noise from the Ethernet connection in a coil.
The "box" refers only to the connector housing. It could result from a poor solder joint or faulty wire. This is the first time I've encountered this sound. It might be unusual? Wishing you good luck with the warranty exchange. The coil whine isn't unique to inductors; the term was coined after being observed in coils, but any conductive material—like capacitors, resistors, or metal sheets—can produce similar noise.
