Hi, I noticed my mid-tower Silencio 550 gets quite warm even when idle. I checked with HWMONITOR to see if temperatures have dropped since I stopped using it heavily or playing games. I’m curious about the TMPIN6, TMPIN8, and mainboard readings—what typical ranges are they in?

These components run at varying temperatures, and the motherboard parts tend to get quite warm. You don’t have to worry about extra software—HWMonitor gives reliable readings. How are your temperatures during games looking? It seems everything is within normal range.

I believe this setup is quite impressive, though I’m not an expert. A 115°C motherboard? That seems unusual—most likely designed for higher temperatures. It’s possible Intel has a different approach. Personally, I have my own board (after hours of gaming), but I checked the temperature right now and it’s around 58°C, which is close to the safe limit. My RAM voltages are a bit high, but I can’t change that. The board handles voltage variations better than others. Overall, I’m just relieved it’s functioning properly ;D

These readings are from unreliable data caused by a poor algorithm. Certain sections of the board might hit these temperatures, like the VRM, though it would slow down the CPU.

I attempted it; it displays fewer details for MOBO but no temperature. It exceeded 65. Nearly 90 this time. Within 10 minutes.

115C on a CPU will power down the board, halting RAM activity and ending the connection. On VRMs it reduces CPU speed and VID output. This isn't a condition you'd want to encounter.

We haven't determined your CPU cooler or whether you're running overclocked. A standard Intel cooler is generally anticipated.

Hopefully, do you have another idea to better check the temperatures? Remember, the benchmarks indicate the GPU stays under the 40th percentile. Don't overclock it. The cooler is a Scythe Katana 3. Additional fans: one front and one rear. Those come with the Silencio 550.

Not a big supporter of the heatsink; seems like poor airflow overall. It makes sense that most heat from the GPU ends up on the CPU rather than fresh air. Adding another intake fan could help. Would a friend with a spare be able to test if it improves cooling?
