I have a DVD player (https://www.amazon.ca/LG-Storage-GH24NSC.../B07HB24G6) and I'm checking if it can handle CD ROMs. One of my favorite games is on a CD, but I'm unsure if the drive supports it. Anyone has any advice? Also, is there an option to buy a compatible player for this model?

I've never encountered a DVD player that doesn't also support reading CDs. Just give it a try! The only possible outcome is failure to read. If you're not willing to risk your favorite game, consider using a music CD instead.

I haven't got the game or anything else, but I could visit a store and ask for it since I don't want to waste money.

All available drives for computers are CD-ROM based, which explains the reliance on IDE or SATA. It should function properly.

Media readers at any skill level need backward compatibility, only backward. For example, a DVD should work with another DVD, while a CD can’t read DVDs. Blu-Ray might or might not support DVD, but I’d expect it to.
