This project involves setting up a PC for another person. They’re using an ASRock B450M-HDV R4.0 and an R3 3100 CPU. The motherboard has an R5 1600 to upgrade the BIOS. After booting without a case, fans started but no USB or display appeared. I spent the day fixing things—clearing CMOS repeatedly, rechecking connections, testing RAM—but the motherboard still didn’t work. I moved the R5 1600 to my own machine (MSI B350 PC Mate) and the same issues returned, along with the debug LED lighting up. One pin was bent slightly after being knocked onto the GPU about ten centimeters away. I fixed it by bending it back, then double-checked every angle to ensure no damage. I tried installing it without a CPU cooler just to see if it would boot, but it still had problems. I cleared the CMOS multiple times without success. The manual suggested jumping the pins without unplugging the PSU, which is the only option I’d considered before worrying about damaging the system. No one else has shared a solution, so I’m unsure what to do next.

Test the CPU on your board; if successful, it likely means the processor is not functioning. Determine the exact moment it was removed during the operation.

This wouldn't be possible since his CPU is a Zen 2 and after a CMOS reset I'd have to reinstall my BIOS to support it. Fortunately, the CPU isn't damaged. After reconnecting all power cables and resetting the CMOS with the power on, it started working. Thanks for your help! I plan to visit a hardware store tomorrow to check if the new motherboard is faulty or if they can update the BIOS. It will cost me, but that's what it is.

This wouldn't be possible since his CPU is a Zen 2 and after a CMOS reset I'd have to reinstall my BIOS to support it. Fortunately, the CPU isn't damaged. After reconnecting all power cables and resetting the CMOS with the power on, it started working. Thanks for your help! I plan to visit a hardware store tomorrow to check if the new motherboard is faulty or if they can update the BIOS. It will cost me, but that's what it is.
