Hello. The recent reports about this Ransom are concerning, but the latest Windows patch might be the solution. Do you require an upgrade to the Creators Update on Windows 10, or is the patch available as a separate update not included in the feature update? I'm concerned because my friend encountered the 'Missing Operating System' message after installing Creator's Update, and I want to prevent that. Appreciate your assistance!

A recent Dutch news outlet reported that the major ransomware operation had been halted. It appears the malware would target a specific domain. If the domain wasn’t claimed or registered, it would continue spreading. The attack was stopped after someone identified this code snippet, and since then this particular incident has been resolved. This update comes from a general Dutch news source, not focused on technology details.

Microsoft announced: "In March, we released a security patch that fixes the flaw these attacks are using. Users with Windows Update enabled are safeguarded against this vulnerability." They also included the malware in their signature-based Windows Defender as the threat became public. Most importantly, they fixed it in March for those who get regular updates. Detailed information is available in their security bulletin.
