I've battled DX9/12 for months. My setup uses an A8(r5) graphics card with Windows 10, so directX9 isn't available. I've installed multiple games but they keep mentioning a DX9.dll issue. Trying compatibility packs, Microsoft fixes, and customer help only gave me a sorry response. Steam downloads usually include the required files, but my drive is under 250MB and my card won't run GTA5 soon. I don’t really need Steam for this. Would you mind suggesting some solid games that work without DX9 or require only a basic internet connection?
AMD's built-in graphics handle DX9. They must include it since many games use DX9 as an API, such as Skyrim. It looks like you might be downloading pirated copies, which we strongly oppose on the forum and will take action to block or remove any related discussions.
You don’t have to use steam at all to play games. Many titles work without it, including Starbound—I’m not sure about any other options.
