Can I uninstall IE without admin rights using TrustedInstaller? I'm trying to clear space on a slow computer and changing file owners doesn't work, so I'm unsure if it's possible.

Possibly, under "programs and features" there is an option to "Turn windows features on or off" and IE is listed in there...

IE serves many internal functions in Windows without requiring much storage, which is why I wouldn't bother. You can conceal it from users via the add and remove windows features.

You can eliminate it using the reg take ownership hack, though it would cause issues. All functionality would be lost for just 50MB of space.

It's interesting to think about how many items might fail. Disabling doesn't always mean deletion, so some things remain. Thanks for your clarification!

The issue stems from using Internet Explorer for many applications that run behind scenes, requiring it to process web content. How much space is available on your disk? Several files are removed before the browser loads. Have you considered using a tool like WindstarStat to check your disk usage?

Used 32GB eMMC storage. Applied a Windows decrapifier, reduced about 500MB.

Absolutely, that's going to be a challenge. It seems like most of the storage is being consumed. I'm hoping you can get Linux running on it, as those distributions typically use less than 8GB even after installation.

Windows was updated with a fresh setup and works fine on 8GB of memory.

I tried to create a custom Windows version similar to the one at the provided link. I’m not sure how effective it will be, but it seems to exist somewhere.
