Just keep it going with the VRMs plus a bit of underclocking. Sticking to AM4 isn’t worth it if you need to replace the motherboard later. It’d be smarter to grab a used 12600/12700k and pair it with a used Z690 for a comparable cost.

It seems better to hold off until the 14th gen chips are announced in December. That timing could lower prices and unlock fresh possibilities.
