You can apply the Windows 7 product key to your new Windows 10 PC, but it won’t work directly as an activation method. The activation code is specific to the older version and may not recognize your new system. Consider using a valid Windows 10 product key instead for smooth setup.

I recall that information correctly. Just confirm the code matches the Windows 10 version you're setting up. For example, Home Premium works with 10 Home, while Professional and Ultimate require 10 Pro.

You could upgrade it to Windows 10 at that time.

Back in the day when Windows 10 came out, everyone using 7 or 8 could switch to Windows 10 if they wanted to; doing so made their software compatible with Windows 10 activation.

You can do that if you used that key to upgrade to W10 previously, otherwise it might not work, but hey there is no harm in trying anyway! (There is a chance it will work)

That's correct, I updated to version 10 for Windows 7. However, using the same code on a new PC might not work unless it's compatible with that specific system.

It works with any Windows 7 or Windows 8 key. I just completed it a few weeks back.
