Check if your EL1333G-01W supports an AMD X2 processor. I've attached the images for reference. Let me know if you need further help!

I don’t understand which port it is, and many of these budget PCs run CPUs that are hard to locate.

The chipset indicates it's AM2(+). @OP my board used the same chipset, but I upgraded from an Athlon 64X2 5400+ to a Phenom X4 9500, which required a BIOS update. The board seems a bit underpowered, so maybe a high-clock Athlon 64X2 based on Brisbane would be better since yours is just a single-core model.

Yes, using an AM2 CPU works. The top choice would be a 65 nm Phenom X4 chip, though I'm unsure if the board supports it and you might need a more powerful cooling solution. It's not a good deal unless you're planning to upgrade later.

Several quick online checks suggest fitting an Athlon 64 X2 5000+ might work, likely without needing more than three or four cores.

Hi everyone, already note this is a very .....very old line but a just find a new toy (emachines el1333g-01w) and i want to push the limits. Is the same machine in the pictures. Gilbert (i gave it the name) was upgrade the RAM to 4Gb and the CPU to Athlon 64 e5050 (2 cores 2 Threads at 2.65Mhz). I couldn't find any more power in K8 CPU family so..... decide open my horizon and look on K10 family (no more than 65W TDP, 4 and 4 of course and 940 pins) and a couple of Phenom came out, the 9150e, 9350 an 9450 (quiet difficult to buy it). i put my hands on a 9150 and 9350 but when i put it on Gilbert...PUFF just one core and one thread was recognize. I Tried every possible thing with always the same result Ono Core .... My Q why is this happened and how can i fix it.
