Hi there. Everyone, I’ve got Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 4000mhz C19 2x8Gb already installed on my PC. Since 16GB wasn’t enough for Hell Let Loose, I upgraded to more memory. I bought the same 2x8Gb RAM from Memory Express and installed it. Everything seems fine at first, but the speed dropped down to 2133mhz. After checking, I realized the new sticks are C18 models. I was thinking about replacing them, but my wife threw all the packages and receipts into the trash. Can I still mix them in and keep the 4000mhz frequency?

Sure, just use the XMP profile for C19. Keep in mind your CPU might not handle 4 sticks at that speed, so test stability after applying.

Thanks for the update, seems like an issue occurred with C19, now only operating at 2133MHz. Swapped them in with C18 and I'm back to 4000MHz. It's time to reach out to Corsair support for replacements. I believe 5800MHz should work? If it can't handle 4000MHz, 2133MHz is quite slow.

It reaches 2133 since it's the JEDEC standard for it. That means it will automatically use that speed for compatibility, so you need to increase it manually in BIOS by turning on XMP IDK regarding Zen 3 RAM support. Dual-rank 4000 might be too high.

Place the slowest RAM in the main slots for better compatibility. If it functions well and remains stable, then install the faster RAM in the same slots and check performance. Don't forget to reset the CMOS.

Once XMP is activated, the system reboots several times on its own and restarts at 2133mhz.

Oh no, forgot to reset CMOS maybe? I'll give it another shot. Thanks!

Consider it as an unstable situation; activating XMP and adjusting the frequency to 3600 could be a solution.

Enable XMP not at all. Let the motherboard handle the secondary, you manage the primary and voltage. Even with a mixed setup, if it functions properly, give it a little experiment. That’s why I recommended placing your slowest configuration in the primary slots.

You restored everything and restarted the device, now your C19 operates at 2133mhz, so you'll need to order a new one.
