It might seem excessive, but I'm attempting to obtain an XP driver for a Windows 10 system. The software is tailored for the Intel Q45/43 chipset.

You may save the file, though it won’t set up. This software works just on Windows XP and devices with the Q45/43 chipset.

You could try installing the driver via Device Manager. I installed a Windows XP driver for Vista this way, but it might not function properly.

It may not function properly because the driver isn't compatible with your system settings.

You have the option to revert at any time. The simplest method is to create a restore point prior to installing the driver. If that fails, reload the restore point and you'll return to your previous state.

Based on my experience over many years, using standard driver installers for anything other than video generally performs well. If you need video drivers that are outdated, there might be some adjustments possible with the .inf file, though I’m not sure it would function correctly.

Before Vista, GPU drivers probably wouldn't function correctly from Vista due to WDDM updates. It seems this was the primary change in drivers around NT6.
